Citizens charged with drunk driving are often understandably confused when confronted with the criminal justice system. San Diego Superior Court: Criminal Proceedings
What happens in criminal court, bail schedule, addresses/phone numbers of the criminal courts.
District Attorney
Prosecutes all felonies, as well as misdemeanors occurring outside the City of San Diego but within the County of San Diego.
San Diego City Attorney
Prosecutes misdemeanors committed within the City of San Diego.
Public Defender
Represents criminal indigents in all criminal prosecutions (Note: cannot represent anyone at DMV license suspension hearings).
San Diego County Jails
San Diego Central Jail. Information on locating an inmate, visiting hours, etc.
